Internet Marketing, Tips and Treasures

Time waits for no man, or woman!! You have heard me say that procrastination can steal our motivation and dreams. I am not about to let that happen. It feels so wonderful to be able to be back and sharing here on my blog.

For the past few months this internet marketing grandma has been dealing with an over abundance of technical problems. I must say, I have learned much. Thank God it appears that everything is back in working order and I now can forge ahead. I am eternally grateful to everyone who has helped me in my great time of need.

Today has been a day involving the wearing of many hats. It amazes me how much we can cram into a day. Meetings, half a dozen phone calls, Skype calls, making a bank deposit, dropping off and picking up items at the library, a trip to JoAnn’s for materials I needed for my jewelry business, a stop at the grocery store, and last but not least making a custom bracelet.

I find in times when I am stretched in my energy and emotions that I can always come up with a smile and happy heart knowing that I am helping others. That is true with whatever we find ourselves doing. So no matter how many hats you wear, always wear a hat of “love”. I always feel I help myself when I help others.

I recently came across a new internet marketing business opportunity that really reaches out and helps people with their internet marketing needs. This new opportunity is Prosperity Rising. My first impression was the site looks professional and clean, with an attractive look and feel. It is easy to read and understand. Joining the site was easy and painless–they do offer 2 upgrade options but they are not required to gain the benefits.

The Members’ Area is very well laid out and intuitive–I could figure out what to do after only a few minutes and was able to get up and running in less than 5 minutes. Inside the site, you create links and ads–the links you simply enter any URL links you use into the generator and it transforms them into “Prosperity Rising” links. You create ads for anything you want to promote using the Prosperity Rising Ad Generator, which is very easy to use. You can create as many links and as many ads as you like. And they are organized in a logical way–links are displayed in the order you create them but also your 5 most recent links appear on the main page for quick reference. Also, since the link generator is the tool you’ll use most, it is also right at the top of the main page when you login. Very smart!

After you’ve created at least 1 link and 1 ad you can start to generate traffic. Just use and promote the new Prosperity Rising link instead of the original source link you had. Every time the Prosperity Rising link is clicked, the page loads followed by a cool slide-up ad window at the bottom. It displays an ad PLUS an image with your affiliate link that goes back to Prosperity Rising. So if anyone clicks the Prosperity Rising image they see the site, and if they signup they become your referral. It’s a great viral feature because you can build referrals without even trying to just by using the site.

Now every time the ad window displays (your Prosperity Rising links get clicked) you earn credits that get YOUR ad displayed in the ad windows when other members’ links get clicked. So the more clicks, the more times your ads get displayed.

And this works virally–meaning as you make referrals into Prosperity Rising (either by promoting it or just using it and visitors click the Prosperity Rising image on the ad window to join) you also earn ad credits on THEIR link clicks. And this works up to 5 levels deep. So you can create a massive amount of free ad views and web traffic by referring others to Prosperity Rising also.

I didn’t get to test the full effect of a big downline yet (I just got the tool) but I can tell you the rest of the site works exactly as stated–my links got clicked, I earned credits, and my ads got displayed. Prosperity Rising even tracked my results so I know how many clicks and how many ad displays. That was an impressive unadvertised extra feature.

There is one more benefit and feature which might be the best of them all–downline emailing. You can email your downline with offers, promotions, or whatever you like, and here is where Prosperity Rising really shines. They took time to make the emailing often enough that it’s valuable as a user, but no so often that it’s a burden to your downline. But the best part about this feature (and actually the credit earning too) is that it tells you exactly how long until you can mail again. Now THAT’s cool.

Overall I have to say I am impressed with Prosperity Rising. It is simple yet powerful, and delivers on its promises. Highly recommended to anyone who wants to increase traffic and advertising.

Time to Follow Your Dreams!

As an online grandparent trying to succeed in internet marketing I am reaching the conclusion that it is time to follow my dreams! Internet marketing is a highly infiltrated industry. I have been diligently working various businesses for approximately 7 years now. I am about to share how I am going to pursue what I have always wanted to do with my life.

So often I think we get caught up in other people’s “causes”. Nowadays there are a lot of causes on the internet. I am not afraid to put in a lot of effort and time into a project to make it work. I am ready to take what I have learned and use it to launch out on a journey to accomplish what I have wanted to do since I graduated high school.

Many years ago I had a dream of what I wanted to do with my life. I took a course in learning how to write children’s books. Writing has always been a passion of mine. It could be children’s books, poetry, a “How to” article or even relating events in my life in “My Life‘s Story“. I am looking forward to incorporating the wonderful lives of my grandchildren into “Heavenly Critters”, and documenting the path of the lifetime I have traveled.

I have spent over 45 years in the corporate world as an executive administrative assistant and my latest position was as a document control specialist with a pharmaceutical company. Clinical Trials sometimes fail and corporations are forced to downsize and positions are eliminated. I was unsuccessful in my search to find a new position and decided to work-full time in an online business opportunity I was doing part- time.

Since then I have retired and moved onto other online opportunities. I was blessed to be introduced to the Crazy Foxes Marketing Group and learned much from other members who are experts in the industry. They reached out and helped each other like I’ve never seen before. It was a true team community. Tenacity Leads to Victory Around the Corner!

Being involved with online internet marketing, it goes without saying that when I have computer problems it brings my internet networking business to a halt.

I recently was involved in a nightmare situation involving my computer. I know most of us have spent time on the phone with “technical support”. Sometimes we can understand them, sometimes we can’t! I had been having “crashing” problems with my laptop for 4 – 5 months.

One time I called HP technical support to get my problems resolved. I spent about two hours on the phone jumping through the hoops of the technician’s directions. I was instructed to take the memory out and switch everything around. We did the hard drive system check and after all was said and done I was instructed to go forward with the system restore process. Whoa!! I would lose everything on my laptop. I am not a computer illiterate person and knew this could not be a good thing. I asked if in fact everything would be wiped off and was told yes. So this was not an option. However, at this point, I could not even boot up my computer. I called in with at least a working system, and ended up with a non-functioning laptop.

I was instructed that I now had to take my laptop to a computer repair place and have the files downloaded to a hard drive. I was not a happy person as I had paid $150.00 for a service contract and now was told that HP would not be responsible for the charges I was going to incur at PC101. I took my laptop to PC101 and received great service, costing $150.00. I was now able to download my files to an external hard drive I had purchased.

I used my laptop for a short time and again encountered the “crashing” problems. I can’t even begin to tell you how many hours I spent on the phone with HP technical support. One day alone I was on the phone twice totaling over 6 hours. A complete system restore was done, after which time within a couple of hours the laptop crashed again. Then the second time I called the technician remotely checked my system and told me there was no evidence of the laptop crashing. Hence, was I just dreaming that I was having problems?

Within a couple of days my laptop was crashing an average of 10 or 12 times daily. I called HP back and the technician checked the file and was thinking I was dreaming this problem up, I am sure. He remotely took access of my laptop. Voilá! I was not making these calls because I didn’t have anything better to do. While he was checking everything out the laptop crashed! The result of this call was getting authorization to send the laptop in for repair. I was specifically told that the laptop would be either repaired, or replaced.

This was not the end of the story. I was notified after HP received my laptop and checked things out. I was told that my laptop was not repairable, and they would not replace it. Seems there was extensive damage to the laptop. I was not told exactly what this damage was, other than the person mentioning in passing that it had spill damage.

As I am the only person that used this laptop I ended up calling the customer service department. I had requested photos showing the damage and they told me they were also requesting photos. After a couple of days I was called and told that they had misdiagnosed the laptop and they would be repairing it and I would have it back the following week.

I did receive my laptop back. Upon opening the box I was dismayed, but not surprised to find that yes the laptop did in fact have spill damage. However, it was not damage I had created. I was back on the phone and ended up speaking with a Case Manager, David, that reviewed my folder. He asked me to send him photo documentation on the spill damage. He found it strange that nowhere in my service records was “spill damage” mentioned. My daughter took excellent photos and I emailed these to David.

To make an already long story shorter, David called me and went over specifications matching, or exceeding those of my original laptop, to build a new laptop. I received the new laptop in about two weeks. It is absolutely awesome.

I am a firm believer that in addition to making the complaining calls or reports, we need to give the kudos when so deserved. I just want to say, “Thank you, David for restoring my faith in HP and for the fabulous service and execution of this case.”

And on a last note, when you encounter a problem, no matter what it is, don’t give up. Victory is just around the corner.

Strive Not To Murmur!

This is truly a profound statement. My daughter and I both love quotes that can make a difference in our lives and the way we look at things. This is really one of those quotes.

As a grandparent endeavoring to become successful in a home based internet marketing business I have just come out of two weeks that I feel blessed not to have resorted to “murmuring”! Believe me there were times I was tempted.

Two weeks ago I was showered with grave computer problems. Problems had been mounting over the past 3 – 4 months. As the result of a constantly crashing/shutting down laptop. I spent MANY hours on the phone with Technical Support. I really think they thought I was just a complaining person who didn’t recognize crashing from videos on YouTube! That was until one of the service technicians was remotely checking out the system and it crashed while he was doing his thing. That was their “Aha moment” and they decided it needed to be sent in to be repaired.

I have another desktop PC that had decided to separate ways with my Internet Service. When my laptop was shipped off I resorted to checking out the problems with this computer. After spending about an hour on the phone with my ISP Provider I was told my computer was not communicating with the network. (As if I didn’t already know that!) I ended up having to take the PC to my local computer repair. Within an hour and $90.00 later I was back online. Thank you Charles!

Now I am playing catch up! It is amazing how far behind you can get without being able to access the internet. It is not only a financial burden, but it is a productivity problem.

I am most grateful to have recently signed up with PM Marketing/ NetworkLeads. Thanks to their phenomenal services my business was in good hands and leads were taken care of and emails were sent out on my behalf keeping things going. I am truly impressed with not only the numerous services, but the quality of service they provide.

My primary business is Ultra International. I must say that even being without computer access I was able to call in for training meetings and opportunity calls. The websites that are provided kept things running smooth as silk. People that were being directed there from PM Marketing/ Network Leads were able to sign up and business went on as usual. My biggest inconvenience was not being able to call my prospects and new members. To me that is extremely important.

As I am digging out from all I have to catch up on, I just wanted to take a moment to say that in the midst of our hardest situations, we can always find a blessing. To often we focus on the problem instead of the opportunity it is presenting to us.

I am hoping for a quick solution to my laptop problem. In the meantime I am grateful for my “old” PC.

Do you have the right tools to be successful?

One of the many blessings of being a grandparent is that we have an endless supply of memories. I especially like the internet because through blogging it provides an enormous audience to share these memories with.

I became a single mom when my two daughters were 9 and 10 years old. They truly were the glue that held my life together. Out of many tough times, we had a lot of fun! They were the tools that helped me become successful back then.

Today as I was working and searching for the right tools to accomplish a project I am working on I started reminiscing about my past. I was thinking how much better our lives would’ve been if internet marketing, as we know it now, was in existence back then. The time frame I am referring to is the early 80’s . I would have been able to work at home and improved our quality of life.

How Social Are You?

I apologize for not posting daily and promise to do better. Is it difficult for other people to keep up with their blogging? Perhaps it because I am an internet marketing grandparent trying to learn all the skills I can and become the best I possibly can at my online business? There just doesn’t seem to be enough hours in a day to get done all I want to do.

The buzz words nowadays seem to be “Social Networking”. There are many venues out there. We have Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, Ning, Sta.rtUp.Biz, Qassia, and LinkedIn just to mention a few.

Truthfully, I find it difficult to keep caught up with them all. Just recently there was a fabulously written article in our local newspaper entitled, “Facebook is ruining my life”. It was written by a talented gentleman. He mentioned that Facebook does a great job at helping long lost friends find each other. However, he just turned 38 and in a 12 hour period he had received 9 pokes, was tagged in 5 photos, hit with 2 snowflakes and had a virtual” beer with one of his college friends. He went on to say that he doesn’t have time to keep up with all of this. After all, he has his career, mortgage to pay and family to look after!

This article set my brain in gear. I personally use Social Networking in my online network marketing business. I will confess that I too have located some long lost friends from years gone by on Facebook. I have noticed that a lot of people are baring their souls, sharing their spouse’s faults and other personal aspects of their lives. I don’t think my husband would have wanted me to share his faults with the entire internet world! What do you think?

Another thing came to mind. What does this communicating online do to our personal communication skills? I mean our “reach out and touch someone” skills. I used to think that emails had replaced the sharing of our heartfelt emotions with each other either on the phone, or in person. I recently had a friend tell me that he doesn’t use email. He said to me, “An email doesn’t tell me how Judy is really feeling. I need to call her and talk to her in person.”

I do think that Social Networks, such a Twitter, provide a great service to the business community providing information on software, programs,networking tips, upcoming meetings and business solutions.

We can read people’s feelings on a Social Network page, but do we really know their innermost feelings? I don’t understand people communicating with each other while sitting in the same room on a Social Network, but being unable to communicate personally with each other. I apologize if you thing I am wrong in thinking this way. These thoughts are only my feelings and opinions.

I am interested in your thoughts on this subject. Please take a minute and leave a comment. How do you feel about a child being on MySpace communicating his/her feelings, but unable to communicate verbally in person with their friends, siblings, parents. etc.?

In summing it up, I think that there is a place in our life for Social Networking, but just like everything else in our lives, we need to stay balanced. We need to exercise ALL of our skills!
